Out of forty students 14 are taking english composition and 29 are taking chemistry five students are taking both how many students are taking neither class

So 14/40 for English and 29/40 for Chem and you know 5 take both so that leave 9 unique students for English and 25 for Chem so 5+9+25=39 and 40-39=1
