f(x)+g(x) means to add the two functions:
f(x)+g(x) = (2x^2-4x-3) + (2x^2-16)
[tex] = 2 {x}^{2} + 2 {x}^{2} - 4x - 3 - 16 \\ = 4 {x}^{2} - 4x - 19[/tex]
So the correct answer is D.
