Jane sells 8 times as many Volvo’s as Melissa. If the difference in their sales is 35, how many cars did jane sell?

If x=Jane and y=Melissa
8x=y
And
X-y=35
Plug in the first equation to the second
X-8x=35
7x=35
X=5
So Jane sold 5 Volvo’s
