We are given that:
RT = 16 units
RS = 2x + 26
ST = x + 20

Now, RT is the summation of both RS and ST, this means that:
RT = RS + ST
16 = 2x + 26 + x + 20
16 = 3x + 46
3x = 16 - 46 = -30
x = -10

This means that:
RS = 2x + 26 = 2(-10) +26 = -20 + 26 = 6 units
ST = x + 20 = -10 + 20 = 10 units
