I believe it is 18 because GF is half the length of CG if CG equals 12 then GF equals 6 add them together and you get CF equals 18.

CF = (3/2)CG
CF = (3/2)*(12 cm) = 18 cm

The centroid is always 1/3 the distance along the median toward the vertex from the side. GF = (1/3)CF, so CG:GF = 2:1, and CF = (3/2)CG.
