[tex]- \frac{2}{3} w + 5 = 4[/tex]

Refine:

[tex]5 - \frac{2w}{3} = 4[/tex]

Multiply both sides by 3 :

[tex]3 * 5 -3* \frac{2w}{3} = 3*4[/tex]

Refine:

[tex]15 - 2 w = 12[/tex]

Subtract  15 from both sides:

[tex]15 - 2w - 15 = 12 - 15[/tex]

[tex]- 2w = -3[/tex]

Divide both side by -2 :

[tex] \frac{-2w}{-2} = \frac{-3}{-2} [/tex]

[tex]w = \frac{3}{2} [/tex]

hope this helps!.
