To find the value of r you'll have to set up a proportion of the corresponding sides.
[tex] \frac{AC}{BC} = \frac{DF}{EF} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{12}{6} = \frac{r}{8} [/tex]
6r = 96
r = 16
