The vectors [tex]\{v_1,v_2,...,v_p\}\in \mathbb{R}^n[/tex] are linearly independent if the ONLY solution to the following equation:

[tex]c_1v_1+c_2v_2+...c_pv_p=0[/tex]

is [tex]c_1=c_2=...=c_p=0[/tex]
