Midpoint of x = 0.5 (2a + 2a) 
Midpoint of x = 0.5 (4a) 
Midpoint of x = 2a

Midpoint of y = 0.5 (2b + 0)
Midpoint of y = 0.5 (2b)
Midpoint of y = b

So the midpoint is (2a, b) (Answer D)
