You may recognize QRT as a 5-12-13 right triangle. That would make
.. ST = 13 -5 = 8
The other way to get there is using the rules for secants.
.. 12^2 = ST*(ST+10)
You will find that ST = 8 is a solution to this quadratic. (The other, extraneous, solution is ST = -18.)
