Sirens are none to "brainwash" or hypnotizing sailors to fall in love with them through their shrill but addicting voice. Through their voices they possess great power, enough to make any man submit to their will. To avoid being deceived, Odysseus' crew stuffed their ears with beeswax so they cannot hear the siren's voices.
